![]() I launched Thunderbird and all of my email accounts are there, and the imported email folders are located under Outlook Import. I left it in 'relative format' so I didn't have to change the IsRelative setting: Path=Profiles/faultġ2. I also edited the /Library/Thunderbird/profiles.ini to set the Path value to point to the new fault directory. I located the /Library/Thunderbird/Profiles directory on the Mac, and moved the fault folder into it from the external USB drive. I downloaded and installed Thunderbird 3 on the Macġ1. Once the mail import finished I quit Thunderbird, dismounted the external drive and connected it to my new Macġ0. This took awhile so I let it run and did something else for awhile.ĩ. I then ran the Import for the Address Book.Ĩ. If you want your accounts to use different folders you shouldn't need to do this.ħ. I also removed a bunch of the SMTP entries, as it created one for every email account, and I also made all of the SMTP and folder locations were correct for each email account so that all email accounts would be using the same folder structure. Edited the Accounts to remove some very old email accounts that still had information in Outlook, but that I was no longer using. Launched Thunderbird and ran Import just for the Settings option (to import accounts and smtp server settings).Ħ. I then edited the profile.ini to set IsRelative=0 and Path=I:\email\Profiles\fault (the full path to the directory where I moved the Profiles folder).ĥ. I moved the C:\Document and Settings\\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles folder to the external drive.Ĥ. I launched Thunderbird and clicked Cancel for the import and create account dialogs, then Quit Thunderbird (needed to do this so it initialized the profile).ģ. I downloaded and installed Thunderbird 3 to an external USB drive on my Windows XP machineĢ. ![]() I did first purge as much of the email as I could from Outlook.ġ. I just followed the information here to migrate from Outlook 2007 on Windows XP to Thunderbird on Windows XP, and then to Thunderbird on Mac OS 10.6.5. I realize this is a bit of a old/dead thread, but it's worth an update.
